## What to know about backflow testing in Texas
- TCEQ requires backflow prevention assemblies to be tested on installation and at least once a year (no more than 12 months from the last test).
- Only a TCEQ-licensed tester (BPAT) may legally test backflow assemblies in Texas.
- Test results must be submitted to the local water provider; non-compliance can lead to fines, penalties, or water service termination.
